FLOOD (2023)

FLOOD" is a collaborative piece by Cristián Pietrapiana and Andrés Senra that addresses the consequences of flooding in Queens as a result of climate change and how it affects the community. The artists worked with Queens residents using the cherished personal items they lost due to flooding, which symbolically and metaphorically reflect how floods represent an erasure and loss of their history and biography. These objects thus become material with agency, forming part of an interconnected network of humans, animals, and objects in which the local reflects the change caused by global warming.
